Earnhardt on finale: Going to be 'weird'

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) Dale Earnhardt Jr. got the best retirement gift he could have asked for when William Byron won the Xfinity Series championship for JR Motorsports on Saturday, one day before Earnhardt's final race as a full-time driver.

NASCAR's most popular driver is a part owner of the race team with sister Kelley and boss Rick Hendrick, and JR Motorsports went in to the finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway with a 75 percent chance of winning the title. Truex has top practice time at Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) Martin Truex Jr. has topped the leaderboard in the final practice of the season and proven again why he's the favorite to win his first NASCAR championship on Sunday.

Truex hit 171.195 mph on Saturday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the best of the four championship drivers. Truex is the only one of the four that has yet to win a Cup championship. He has led the Cup Series in nearly every measurable category and is a seven-time winner this year. Read More...
